Stable careers programme
(Gatsby Benchmark 1)
As a training provider, we are committed to delivering a stable, high quality careers programme that supports our 16 – 19-year-old learners to make informed, ambitious decisions about their future. Careers education is communicated in a number of ways to ensure learners gain clear guidance and meaningful exposure. Part of this means meeting with our Careers Advisor during the first half of an apprenticeship. These meetings go towards learners receiving clear guidance, structured opportunities, and meaningful exposure to industry. By integrating careers development into the learner journey, we help individuals build confidence, understand the pathways available to them, and progress into sustained, positive destinations that align with their goals and the needs of the sectors we serve.

Learning from career and labour market information

Via our quarterly newsletter, we provide career and labour market information to learners. This supports in empowering them to make informed choices about their future. By understanding the opportunities ahead, learners gain the confidence to explore pathways, develop the right skills, and take bold steps towards meaningful and successful careers.

Linking curriculum learning to careers

Our apprenticeship curriculum is intentionally designed to link learning directly to real career pathways, ensuring every skill, concept, and piece of knowledge is immediately applied in the workplace. As our apprentices learn on the job, curriculum content is continuously reinforced through real tasks, professional behaviours, and sector specific responsibilities. Assessors and workplace mentors work together to highlight how each element of the curriculum supports progression, employability, and long term career development. This creates a seamless connection between theory and practice, enabling apprentices to understand the purpose of their learning, recognise its relevance to their role, and build the confidence needed to advance within their chosen industry.

Encounters with employers and employees

Our apprenticeship provision naturally embeds Gatsby Benchmark 5, as every apprentice completes their programme within a real working environment. This ensures continuous, authentic encounters with employers and employees as part of day to day learning. Apprentices engage directly with colleagues, managers, and sector specialists, gaining first hand insight into workplace expectations, professional behaviours, and industry standards. These interactions are complemented by structured opportunities such as professional discussions, mentoring, and exposure to different departments or roles. Together, this creates a rich, ongoing experience that strengthens career understanding, builds confidence, and supports apprentices to progress within their chosen field.

Encounters with Further and Higher Education

During an apprenticeship, learners reflect upon goals set at the start of their learning and supported by Assessors with how they may achieve them through further and higher education following the completion of their apprenticeship. These experiences inspires ambition, broadens horizons, and gives learners the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices about their next steps, ensuring they are fully equipped to pursue their goals and aspirations.
